When you think of the top scorers in NBA history, names like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant often come to mind. But what about former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce?
Pierce believes he stands as the greatest pure scorer the NBA has ever seen.
'I was probably the best pure scorer in the history of the NBA,' Pierce stated during a segment on Speak on FS1, where he serves as a co-host.
LeBron James has praised Kevin Durant as the most equipped scorer in NBA history, with James himself leading the all-time scoring list at over 42,000 points. Bryant, Jordan, and Durant rank in the Top 8.
Players such as Dirk Nowitzki, Carmelo Anthony, James Harden, and Oscar Robertson all rank ahead of Pierce, who sits at No. 18 with 26,397 career points.
Pierce played 19 seasons following a standout college career at Kansas. He helped the Celtics secure the 2008 NBA championship and was named Finals MVP.
Throughout his career, Pierce earned 10 NBA All-Star selections, one All-NBA Second Team honor, and three All-NBA Third Team nods. The Boston Celtics retired his No. 34 jersey.
