Real Madrid are just one step away from a place in the Copa del Rey final. Success against Real Sociedad this evening in front of the roaring Santiago Bernabéu crowd will see the team complete their latest objective. Ancelotti's boys carry a narrow advantage into the second leg of the semi-finals following a 0-1 away victory in the first.
On the road to the final, set for 26 April at Seville's Estadio de La Cartuja, Madrid's home support will have a vital role to play - in fact, Real Madrid are unbeaten in 12 on their own turf (11 wins). Tonight's is the second of three successive fixtures on the bounce at the Bernabéu, coming between Saturday's win over Leganés and the upcoming LaLiga clash with Valencia this weekend.
“Being so close to a final motivates all of us," underlined Ancelotti in the pre-match press conference. The Italian coach has named all available players in his squad, including Kylian Mbappé. The French forward will be hoping to extend his fine run of form, having hit successive doubles in his last two games.
Real Sociedad
The Basque outfit come into the game off the back of victory over Valladolid in their last LaLiga fixture on Friday. They're also enjoying some remarkable Copa runs in recent years, winning the final held at the Bernabéu in 2021 and booking their place in the semi-finals for a second consecutive campaign. Their captain Oyarzabal is their leading marksman this season, with 12 goals to his name so far (5 in LaLiga, 5 in the Europa Legue and 2 in the Copa).
