【Star】Rodrygo's Future: Should He Remain at Real Madrid or Pursue New Opportunities This Summer?

For the second consecutive summer, Rodrygo's future at Real Madrid is uncertain, but for different reasons than last year. In 2023, the anticipated arrival of Kylian Mbappé suggested that Rodrygo might leave, as Mbappé was expected to take his place alongside Vinicius Junior in Carlo Ancelotti's front line, leaving the Brazilian with a reduced role.
Instead, the opposite occurred. Throughout most of the season, Rodrygo maintained his spot in the team, with Ancelotti sticking to his "fantastic four" attacking lineup despite the defensive imbalances it created.
Rodrygo appeared in 30 of Real Madrid's 37 LaLiga matches, starting 22 of them, and recorded six goals and six assists. He received plenty of opportunities but didn't fully capitalize on them, scoring just one goal after late January and missing the final month due to injury. His underwhelming performances, including in Real Madrid's Champions League exit against Arsenal and the Copa del Rey final loss to Barcelona—where he was substituted at half-time for Mbappé—have sparked growing speculation about his potential departure, along with limited playing time in the Club World Cup.
If Real Madrid approves a transfer and Rodrygo agrees, he would attract significant interest, especially from Premier League clubs. At 24 years old, he has not yet reached his peak, and in the right environment as the primary attacking option, he could thrive more consistently than as a supporting player.
