Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal stated he is prepared to play in any position within Xabi Alonso's team setup.

The Spanish right-back rejoined training with Los Blancos earlier this month after recovering from an ACL injury sustained in October.

Carvajal is enthusiastic about new coach Alonso's strategies, and ahead of Real Madrid's Club World Cup round-of-16 match against Juventus on Tuesday, the experienced defender commented: "The coach is introducing genuine versatility to the team through [Aurélien] Tchouaméni's role. I'll play anywhere, even in goal. I've previously played at centre-back, left-back, or on the wing... I'm always ready for whatever the coach requires. I'm fully available to contribute in any capacity."

At 33, Carvajal now faces increased competition after Madrid bolstered their squad for the tournament in the United States by signing England international Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool and Spain defender Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth.

Alonso initially deployed a four-man defense in Madrid's opening Club World Cup games but switched to his favored three-man backline featuring Antonio Rüdiger, Tchouameni, and Huijsen during their 3-0 victory over RB Salzburg.

Carvajal is eager to overcome his injury setbacks and make a strong contribution.

"Personally, I feel excellent," he said. "I'm reintegrated into the team dynamics. I'm unsure if I'll be in the squad tomorrow, but I know myself— if I'm called upon, I'll give 100%. Full effort, no hesitation, and my confidence is at its peak. This injury phase is behind me now. I just need more match practice, as I've only been training with the group for a couple of weeks."

Carvajal noted that Madrid, who finished as LaLiga runners-up, are building momentum as the tournament advances.

"The team is growing in confidence, and tomorrow's opponent will be tougher than those we've faced so far," he said. "It's a knockout stage, and I can't wait. Lose, and we're out. We must give everything. I hope we secure a spot in the quarterfinals."
