Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says Myles Lewis-Skelly has a "bright" future ahead of him after making his full Champions League debut against Monaco.
The 18-year-old, who only made his senior debut this season, put in an assured performance in the 3-0 win from inverted left-back.
Lewis-Skelly also had a big role to play in Arsenal's first goal, scored by Bukayo Saka, with the teenager playing a good ball into Gabriel Jesus who set up the goal.
His passing accuracy was only bettered by William Saliba out of the starters, while he completed all of his one-on-ones.
"Myles, a word for him, 18 years old to make his debut in the Champions League is a great highlight of the game," said Arteta to TNT Sports.
"What I like about him is the positions he takes, how he penetrates with the ball. He’s one of our own.
"He’s 18 years old, and he has a bright future ahead, and he’s great. As a manager, and as a club, I think we have to be very pleased to see those young players coming through. It’s a nice feeling to be able to help somebody change his life."
Asked about his performance, Lewis-Skelly said: "I’m proud of myself, I believe in myself. I’ve come a long way and I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity. Hopefully it’s the first of many and I push on from here.
"I'm looking up to Bukayo, he knows everything so it’s the mindset. I’ve learned a lot from him, I want to keep learning from him."
Lewis-Skelly is the youngest Arsenal player to feature in the Champions League since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2011.
