According to ESPN, Juventus has finalized a deal to sign Canadian international Jonathan David on a free transfer from Lille.

The striker finalized a financial agreement with the Turin club following their 1-0 loss to Real Madrid and subsequent exit from the Club World Cup. David is expected to travel to Italy soon to complete a medical examination and sign his contract.

Juventus has been interested in David for some time, initially pursuing him when Cristiano Giuntoli was sporting director. Despite changes in the club's organizational structure, including the arrival of the new duo Damien Comolli and Giorgio Chiellini, their interest persisted.

The 25-year-old is joining as a free agent after failing to renew his contract with Lille, and he will be an key addition to Juventus, ready to play under manager Igor Tudor immediately.

This move accelerates Juventus' plans and further sidelines Dušan Vlahović, making his departure from Serie A highly likely.

Meanwhile, Lille has confirmed the signing of France's all-time leading scorer Olivier Giroud on a one-year contract, marking his return to Ligue 1 after 13 years, having last played in the French top flight in 2010.

The 38-year-old forward, who netted 57 goals in 137 appearances for the French national team, arrives from MLS club Los Angeles FC.
