Pep Guardiola has revealed that Rodri may have sustained an injury during Manchester City's Club World Cup loss to Al Hilal in Orlando.
Rodri entered the game as a substitute for Ilkay Gundogan after 53 minutes but was forced to leave during the first half of extra time.
Guardiola mentioned that Rodri reported a problem but declined to specify what it was.
"We need to evaluate Rodri; he complained about his condition, but we'll require some time to recover," Guardiola stated.
Rodri missed nearly the entire previous season due to a serious knee injury and only made his first start since September in last Thursday's 5-2 victory against Juventus.
