Eddie Howe speaking in his press conference on Jason Tindall's sending off at half time of Newcastle's 3-0 win vs Aston Villa:
"I saw plenty. I don’t know the details of why he was sent off, that will need some clarification as if you sent him off you could send 10-15 people off."
When asked about broadcasters calling it a 20-man melee, Howe responded:
“Not far off. It was 17 or 18 people trying to calm it down but what it looks like is then more people involved. No-one wants to see it. It’s not how I want my players or staff to be but sometimes you have to stand up to what is right and protect each other. Frustrations were spilling out from the first half.”
