Newcastle United have submitted an improved offer of approximately £55m for Nottingham Forest's Anthony Elanga.

Last week, Nottingham Forest rejected a bid from Newcastle for the winger, valued at around £45m, as reported by Sky Sports.

Nottingham Forest currently value Elanga at £60m and are not interested in selling him.

Elanga is reportedly interested in Newcastle's project, and manager Eddie Howe views him as a key addition to enhance their attacking lineup.

Negotiations are ongoing.

Newcastle's pursuit of Elanga has been ongoing, with him being one of Howe's primary targets. They previously had a potential £50m offer rejected on deadline day last summer, according to Sky Sports.

After Nottingham Forest declined their initial bid for the Sweden international, Newcastle have considered other options.

These alternatives include Johan Bakayoko from PSV, Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, and Mohammed Kudus from West Ham.
