Cristiano Ronaldo was on the receiving end of a surprise jibe from Middlesbrough after the Portugal star's display against Scotland on Tuesday.
Ronaldo was left frustrated as Scotland held out for a goalless draw against Portugal at Hampden Park in the Nations League. The 39-year-old had four shots throughout the 90 minutes but managed just one on target and he was accused of throwing a tantrum on the field after the final whistle.
The Al-Nassr forward was mocked following a tussle with Scotland and Middlesbrough winger Ben Doak and the Championship club took to social media to troll him the following day. Middlesbrough posted an image of Doak smiling at Ronaldo and touching his chest. adding in the caption: "Alright, mate?"
Doak, 18, joined Middlesbrough on loan from Liverpool in the summer and has made five Championship appearances for the club so far, scoring one goal along the way. The clash with Portugal was his fourth cap for Scotland.
Ronaldo will return to Saudi Arabia following the Nations League matches and may be in action again when Al-Nassr take on Al-Shabab on Friday.
