Bologna have officially confirmed the signing of 22-year-old centre-back Vitik on a permanent transfer from Sparta Prague at a reported cost of €15m made up of €11m in fixed fees plus up to €4m in bonuses.
The Czechia international has put pen to paper on an initial four-year contract that will run until the summer of 2029.
“A right-footed central defender, Martin Vitík is strong in physical duels, particularly in aerial battles, thanks to his impressive physical strength. Coming off an important season with AC Sparta Praha, the 22-year-old made 42 appearances in all competitions, contributing to the Czech side’s Champions League campaign and their fourth-place finish in the Chance Liga,” an official statement read.
“He joined the youth setup of AC Sparta Praha – one of the most prestigious clubs in the country – as a child. In January 2021, he made the step up to the first team, immediately earning a regular starting spot. He now leaves the club after scoring 21 goals in 192 appearances across the Czech top flight, the Czech Cup and European competitions.”
The arrival of Vitik at the Dall’Ara is expected to trigger Sam Beukema’s move to Napoli.
Vitik is considered Beukema’s replacement for the 2025-26 season, and now the Dutchman is expected to complete his transfer to the Stadio Maradona in the coming days.
Napoli will reportedly spend around €30m to sign Beukema from Bologna.
