Antoine Semenyo has signed a new five-year contract with Bournemouth, despite interest from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham this summer.
The 25-year-old scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions last season, helping Bournemouth achieve a club-record points tally and a joint-highest finish of ninth in the Premier League.
Tottenham intensified their interest in Semenyo earlier this month, while Manchester United showed admiration, even as they pursued Bryan Mbeumo.
Semenyo was on Liverpool's transfer shortlist and reportedly favored a Champions League club, but he has chosen to commit his future to Bournemouth.
'I've grown immensely at the club, both on and off the pitch, and I'm thrilled to have signed this deal ahead of pre-season,' said Semenyo.
'From the fans to the staff and my teammates, I can't praise the people at the club enough. It's a fantastic environment, and I'm excited to return to Bournemouth and keep pushing forward with the new season approaching.'
Semenyo joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 and has made 89 appearances, scoring 22 goals.
Bournemouth were unwilling to let Semenyo go easily and value him at up to £70m. He had previously signed a new five-year contract with the club last summer.
Bournemouth's president of football operations, Tiago Pinto, added: 'Antoine has been essential to the club's progress and is a key part of our project at Vitality Stadium.'
'We have a strong relationship with Antoine and look forward to building on it as we aim to surpass our record-breaking season. His dedication aligns with our ambitions, and I'm eager to see what we can achieve in the upcoming campaign.'
