This means that the Wirtz family (his father and agent Hans has a close relationship with Hoeness) has basically reached an agreement with Bayern Munich in the past few months. What has not yet been determined is the timing of the transfer. Wirtz's contract with Leverkusen expires in 2027.

Leverkusen CEO Fernando Caro (60) said in an interview with Marca Radio in April that Wirtz's transfer fee was "at least 150 million euros", but later admitted that this statement was a mistake.

However, the transfer fee negotiations with Bayern are expected to speed up soon. For the Bundesliga record champion, Florian Wirtz is the top signing target this summer.

Wirtz only wants to join Bayern Munich. Real Madrid and Manchester City, which have shown a strong interest in the midfield core, are said to no longer be seriously considered by the Wirtz family.

For Alonso (who has a contract with Leverkusen until 2026), the news is also important on a personal level, as he is seen as the successor to Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti (65), who seems certain to leave after the end of this season. There were rumors that Alonso wanted to take Wirtz with him in a possible move to Real Madrid.
