Everton's amazing first-half performance made sure of a 3-2 win over a poor Tottenham Hotspur team, with David Moyes getting his first win since coming back for a second stint as manager at Goodison Park on Sunday, making things even worse for the away team.
Everton needed to get back to winning ways after picking up one in their previous 12 league matches, and they took the game to their troubled opponents, racing into a two-goal lead inside 30 minutes through Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye.
Calvert-Lewin's great goal was the first time his team had scored in a league game since Boxing Day, ending his own 16-match barren run stretching back to September.
Things went from bad to worse for Spurs in first-half stoppage time when young Archie Gray put the ball into his own net, meaning Everton scored as many goals in one half of football as they had in their previous seven games in all competitions.
There were some nervy moments for the home fans late on when Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison scored, but in the end, Everton survived to win the game. This puts them four points ahead of the bottom three and just four points behind Spurs, who are currently in 16th place.
Everton outplayed Tottenham in the first half, which was David Moyes' first win since he returned as manager.
This was Tottenham's 12th Premier League loss this season, making it only the sixth time in their history they've lost 12 games in their first 22 league games.
