Fulham head coach Marco Silva believes Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton should have been sent off for a second yellow card, but said his side are getting used to decisions not going their way.
Wharton was booked in the 14th minute for a reckless sliding tackle and minutes later kicked out at Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz off the ball.
Referee Darren England was close to the incident and stopped play when Muniz went down holding his right ankle.
But the VAR could only intervene if the incident warranted a straight red card so they were not able to assess whether Wharton should have been shown a second yellow card.
“If you ask me what is my opinion, of course it should have been a second yellow card in that moment,” said Silva
“Rodrigo (Muniz) is there, the ball is not there and if you kick the opposition player it should be a second yellow card.
“Of course, VAR cannot overturn it because in my opinion it's not a situation for a red card. But if you have eight eyes from the four officials inside the pitch they should have seen that, it's clear.
“We have been unlucky with these types of decisions even when they are fair and we deserve something. Unfortunately, the officials are not seeing it and unfortunately for this football club we are getting used to these types of situations.
“But it's not an excuse because even with 11 vs 11 we should have done much better after the 1-0.”
