Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca said January has been “a disaster” for the club due to transfer speculation surrounding his squad.
A number of players have been linked with moves away, with the 44-year-old concerned it is affecting focus as team looks to end a five-match winless Premier League run against Wolves on Monday.
It has been an unusually quiet January window for the club with transfer rumours mainly concerning players that might depart.
Defender Renato Veiga was reported to be in discussions with Borussia Dortmund on Monday whilst the head coach has also faced questions on the future of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei have all been told they are free to find new clubs this month.
“On the pitch, for sure I would like to win more games, but I’m OK,” said Maresca, whose team have not won in the league since December 14.
“Off the pitch it’s a disaster because so many noises that I don’t think help us, but I don’t think they help any club.
“It’s for every club, every manager. When there is any noise about some player, it’s not easy, because even if you think the player can be focussed on us, in the end it’s a human being.
“So if there is any noise about some different club, probably he is not focussed a hundred per cent, so it doesn’t help. But we need to adapt.”
